Welcome to bravotic.com

Hey, my name is Collin, and welcome to bravotic.com. This is my personal repository for projects, apps, information, and otherwise that I have created or chosen to host over the years. While this website will work just fine on almost any browser, for the best experience, please use it with an HTML 5 compatible browser on a screen of 1024x768 resolution or higher, and with 24-bit colors.

My main interest is in computer systems and programming languages. I am particularly interested in abstractions in both programming languages as well as operating systems. I have implemented multiple programming languages ranging in complexity from a full Scheme implementation, to a tiny language used to build this site. My primary programming languages include Racket, Emacs Lisp, C/C++, and Haskell. My favorite operating system is Plan 9, I wish I could use it as my main OS.

I am also a very big fan of retrocomputing. I have accumulated a bunch of both hardware and software over the years, and love to boot it up and play with it. I particularly enjoy backporting modern programs or programming languages to older operating systems. I also love using and implementing historically significant network protocols. I host this website on gopher, and I made a custom USENET server (but don't host it... yet...)

UPDATE: This site got rewritten once again. Some pages may now be broken or have less content on them than they did on the previous iteration of the site. I am working quickly to restore all functionality as soon as possible.
