Micro: Something cool an LLM just taught me

So there I was, using Kagi Assistant to tell me how to accurately rip and reproduce Audio CDs when to my amazement, it highlighted a section of text on the Debian wiki. It inserted some text after the URL which seemed to select some text on the page and literally highlight it. I decided to try it on my site and wow, it just works! No server side scripting needed (to my knowledge).

The string of text you put after the URL is #:~:text=[text you want to highlight]. For example, this is a link to my homepage where the word “programming” is highlighted.

I am not sure if this works with all browsers (I am way too lazy to test it), but it works in MacOS with Firefox, so that’s neat.

Who said you can’t learn anything from an LLM :-).
